Enter Shikari delivered a spectacular performance at the Stockton Globe on 4th December 2024 as part of their "Dancing on the Front Line MMXXIV" tour. Known for their genre-defying blend of post-hardcore, electronic, and metal influences, the band once again proved why they are among the UK's most exciting live acts.
The evening began with Teenage Wrist, whose dreamy, shoegaze-inspired sound set a contrasting yet complementary tone for the night. They whipped up the crowd into a frenzy, creating an atmosphere of anticipation for the main act.
When Enter Shikari took to the stage launching into their set with unparalleled energy. The band wove a seamless narrative across their diverse discography, performing crowd favourites like “Sorry, You’re Not a Winner” from their debut album alongside newer tracks such as “Leap into the Lightning”. The setlist demonstrated their evolution, balancing heavy riffs and soaring electronic melodies with thoughtful lyrics tackling political and societal themes.
Frontman Rou Reynolds captivated the audience with his boundless energy and charisma, often engaging with the crowd to deliver powerful messages of unity and resilience. At one point even performing a few numbers from the sound desk. The stage production added another layer of immersion, with simple yet effective pulsating lights and visuals synchronising perfectly with the band’s dynamic sound.
Highlights included the anthemic “The Last Garrison” and the explosive closer “Mothership”. These tracks showcased the band's ability to blend raw aggression with uplifting choruses, leaving the audience in awe. The crowd's enthusiasm was palpable throughout, with mosh pits, endless crowdsurfing and singalongs amplifying the electric atmosphere
It was my first visit to The Stockton Globe and for me it proved an ideal venue for this show, It blends the vastness of an arena with the intimacy of a smaller venue which allowed Enter Shikari’s performance to shine.
Fans left exhilarated, reaffirming the band's reputation as one of the most innovative and energetic live acts in the UK. For long-time fans and newcomers alike, this concert was a reminder of Enter Shikari’s unique ability to connect with their audience on both a personal and universal level, ending the night with an encore of anthems “Stop the Clocks” and “ A Kiss for the Whole World” made sure everyone left with beaming smiles on their faces.
