Quill Wine Bar gives you time to reflect and be nostalgic

Quill Wine Bar is a hidden gem that offers more than just expertly crafted drinks—it delivers an experience. Nestled in London's Borough Yards within a beautifully restored railway arch, Quill exudes an old-world charm with its chandeliers, spiral staircases, and intimate mezzanine seating. But beyond its ambiance and inventive menu, what truly sets Quill apart is its thoughtful tradition that happens on the first Monday of every month.

On these nights, guests are invited to write a letter to their future selves. The staff provides a blank page, encouraging you to reflect, dream, or simply capture a moment in time. Once sealed, the bar holds onto your letter, and exactly one year later, it arrives in your mailbox—an unexpected and personal time capsule from your past self. It’s a rare opportunity to pause and connect with yourself in a way that feels both nostalgic and inspiring, making each visit to Quill not just a night out but an experience to remember.

Of course, the drinks are just as memorable. We tried the Ink Well, a beautifully balanced cocktail with deep, rich flavors that were as smooth as its name suggests. We also had the Cherry Blossom, which was equally delightful, offering a slightly sweeter but still sophisticated profile. Each drink felt meticulously crafted, with creativity and attention to detail that matched the bar’s literary theme.

Beyond the cocktails, Quill offers an elevated menu curated by Chef Rob Wade, formerly of Michelin-starred Chez Bruce. Dishes like the Golden Boy grilled cheese sandwich and tea-cured Scotch egg showcase modern British flavors with a refined touch.

Quill is more than just a wine bar—it’s a place where storytelling, reflection, and indulgence come together in a truly unique way. Whether you're there for a quiet evening with a book, a deep conversation over cocktails, or the chance to send a message to your future self, Quill delivers an experience that lingers long after you leave.
